Your Shindig Show could include...

Ceilidh Kick-Off

This is your first “opporchancity” to have a good ceilidh dance along to live recordings of the Tommy Boyle Ceilidh Band. Dances include: Circassian Circle, Dashing White Sergeant, Gay Gordons and Military 2 Step

Tommy & Nicola call and demonstrate all the dances to ensure that even novices can get fully involved in Shindig

Clients can request specific ceilidh dances at the time of booking a Shindig

Rappie Burns

Tommy transforms into “Rappie Burns” and recites Burns poetry whilst drumming Rap Beats on the drumkit, hence Rappie Burns. Something you’ve probably never witnessed before and, if you’re a Burns aficionado, maybe something you never, ever wish to witness again (Ha Ha)

Rappie is not open to requests. He can be a difficult character!!! (Ha Ha)

Name That
Scottish Tune

Our Scottish slant on the classic TV quiz show hosted over the years by Tom O’ Connor, Lionel Blair and more recently Jools Holland. Test your knowledge on Scottish Tunes with the Cryptic Clues you’ll be given by your host “Lionel “Jools” O’ Connor"

Prizes are awarded to all competition and quiz winners!

The Big
Scottish Quiz

Test your general knowledge on Scotland’s history, sport, music and much more. An answer sheet for your quiz answers is located in the complimentary booklet style programme which is provided for every guest

Interlude

A chance for some fresh air, chit chat or maybe someone has arranged a buffet for the evening

If a Buffet has been arranged, Rappie Burns can make a re-appearance and perform his infamous “Address to the Buffet”

Ceilidh Encore

Another “opporchancity” to get Ceilidh dancing to tunes from the Tommy Boyle Ceilidh Band with more dances including Canadian Barn Dance, St Bernard’s Waltz, Virginia Reel and Orcadian Strip The Willow

Clients can request specific ceilidh dances at the time of booking a Shindig

Party Games

Would you and your guests like to play one or two Party Games as part of your Shindig? If so, we can host our bespoke Party Games, including, "The Washin' Line Game", "The McHoola Hoop Game", and "The Caber Tossing Game"

A prize is awarded to all Party Game winners!

Talent
(or lack of)Show

Do you or your guests have a talent which they would like to share at the Shindig? Singing, Dancing, Telling Jokes? Then maybe The Talent (or lack of) Show in the perfect opporchancity to shine?

Prizes are awarded to all competition and quiz winners!

Sing-Along-
a-Scotland

Tommy & Nicola perform live on drums & piano keyboard and invite you to singalong to some famous Scottish Songs such as, Song Of The Clyde, Loch Lomond, The Crinan Canal and many more

Your complimentary programmes contain all the words to the songs

Disco.T

This your chance to Disco Dance to great Scottish tunes from such bands as Bay City Rollers, The Proclaimers, Peat & Diesel and many more

Grand Finale

Your last chance for a good Shindig & Knees Up, including Auld Lang Syne and Tommy’s famous, or maybe infamous, “Self Expression Reel”

Everyone still standing at the end of the evening will be fully expected to participate in the Grand Finale

If you wish, we can provide a live ceilidh band for your evening by inviting our good friend, virtuoso accordionist Dave Ritchie to join us

Together, Tommy & Dave are recognised as one of Scotland’s leading ceilidh band duos. You can hear Tommy & Dave playing together on the audio recordings on the Media page

Perhaps you would like a Piper to be part of your Shindig? Then look no further than our top man Chris McCartan. Chris plays with World Champions Inveraray & District Pipe Band and is one of Scotland’s leading pipers Chris also looks the part and this is clear from his photo, where we can see Chris with a firm grip on the world championship trophy
If you would like to have a special guest singer at your Shindig, then we can invite our dear friend Chriss Mills to join us. Chriss is one of Scotland’s most respected vocalists and her performances of Scottish songs is a treasure to behold Chriss’s vocal talent has taken her to many international venues, including The Hollywood Bowl. Closer to home, Chriss was a regular performer with Scottish variety favourites, Peter Morrison and Peggy O’Keefe

We can also provide a Ceilidh Dance Class prior to your Shindig. Let us know if this tutorial, which last around one hour, would be of interest to you and your guests
